Over 700 Drones and Missiles Launched at Ukraine

Russia carried out another air and missile strike on Ukraine overnight, launching 705 munitions, mostly drones, against eleven regions.

On Thursday, October 30, 2025, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russia had carried out another air and missile strike, launching since 7:00 p.m. local time the previous day a total of 705 munitions, mostly drones, against eleven regions.

The Russians launched:

  • 653 unmanned aerial vehicles, including about 400 Geran/Shahed types and various drone decoys (including Gerbera), from the directions of Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Chuda in Crimea;
  • 4 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aero-ballistic/hypersonic missiles from over the Nizhny Novgorod region;
  • 5 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Rostov region;
  • 8 Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea;
  • 2 Iskander-K cruise missiles from the Kursk and Voronezh regions;
  • 30 Kh-101 cruise missiles from over the Saratov region;
  • 2 Kh-59 Ovod/Kh-69 guided missiles from over the Black Sea;
  • 1 Kh-31P guided missile from over the Black Sea.

The attack was repelled by the Ukrainian Air Force, air defense missile units, electronic warfare (EW) and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile air defense groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data, as of 11:30 a.m. local time, air defense systems shot down or forced down 623 aerial targets, including 592 drones, 7 Kalibr missiles, 1 Iskander-K missile, 21 Kh-101 missiles, and 2 Kh-59 Ovod/Kh-69 missiles. Impacts of 16 aero-ballistic, ballistic, or cruise missiles and 63 drones were recorded in 20 locations, along with debris from downed targets in 19 locations. In addition, three enemy missiles failed to reach their targets, and the impact sites are being determined.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy:

Emergency and rescue operations are ongoing in many of our regions after last night’s Russian attack. It was a complex, combined strike: the enemy used more than 650 drones and over fifty missiles of various types, including ballistic and aero-ballistic weapons. Many were shot down, but unfortunately there were hits.

Ordinary residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia were damaged and a dormitory was destroyed. Dozens of people are reported injured as a result of the strike, including five children. Two people, sadly, were killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Rescue operations continue. In Ladyzhyn a seven-year-old boy sustained serious injuries. There were also many malicious strikes on energy infrastructure and everyday civilian life in the regions of Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Poltava, Dnipro, Chernihiv, Sumy, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv. All necessary services have been mobilized; efforts must be made to restore power and water as quickly as possible wherever it is now unavailable.

Russia continues its terrorist war against civilian life, and it is important that each such cowardly attack on civilians has concrete consequences for Russia — sanctions and real pressure. We hope the United States, Europe and the G7 countries will not ignore Moscow’s intent to destroy everything. New steps in pressure are needed: against Russia’s oil and gas industry and its finances, and secondary sanctions on those who sponsor this war. Thank you to everyone working for peace.

State Emergency Service of Ukraine:

Cherkasy region: As a result of Russian aggression, a fire broke out at a farm. The blaze engulfed the roof over an area of 1,200 square meters. One animal was killed. Rescue teams from the State Emergency Service and local fire brigades responded to the scene. The fire has been extinguished, and there were no civilian casualties.

“Dnipropetrovsk region: Rescue workers are dealing with the aftermath of Russian attacks. The regional center and two communities remain under enemy fire. In Dnipro, the Russians targeted an infrastructure facility with a missile. Unmanned aerial vehicles attacked the Pokrovske and Mykolaiv communities in the Synelnykove district.

Zaporizhzhia: The number of people injured in the Russian shelling has risen to 10, including 5 children. Psychologists from the State Emergency Service have provided assistance to 27 residents, including 7 children. The total number of injured is still being verified. Search and rescue operations are ongoing at one of the locations.

Overnight, the Russians attacked the Kherson region with drones. As a result of debris falling onto the grounds of a private house in one of the settlements of the Beryslav district, the remnants ignited. Rescuers extinguished the fire and inspected the area. Fortunately, the residents were not injured.

Zaporizhzhia: Rescuers have recovered the body of a man from the rubble of a residential building destroyed by a Russian attack. The search for another missing person continues. According to current information, 15 people have been injured, including 6 children.

Vinnytsia region: A 7-year-old child was killed in last night’s Russian attack – the child died in hospital from injuries sustained. Four other people were wounded. Residential buildings, vehicles, and critical infrastructure were damaged. Fires broke out, and rescuers are working at the scene.

In Sumy, Russian forces attacked a gas station with a drone. Four people were injured. Rescuers inspected the area, dismantled damaged structures, and ensured fire safety at the site.

At 5:22 a.m., the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command (DO RSZ) issued the following statement:

Attention. Due to the Russian Federation’s attack involving strikes on targets located within the territory of Ukraine, Polish and allied aircraft have begun operating in our airspace.

In accordance with established procedures, the Operational Commander of the Armed Forces has activated all available forces and assets under his command. Quick reaction alert fighter pairs and an early warning aircraft have been scrambled, while ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have reached their highest state of readiness.

These measures are preventive in nature and are aimed at securing and protecting Polish airspace, particularly in areas adjacent to regions under threat.

The Armed Forces Operational Command continues to monitor the situation, and its subordinate forces and assets remain ready to respond immediately.

Another statement was issued at 10:22 a.m.:

The operation of Polish and allied aircraft in our airspace, related to the Russian Federation’s strikes on Ukraine, has been concluded. We express our gratitude for NATO’s support — to the NATO Allied Air Command, the Royal Norwegian Air Force, the Spanish Air Force, and the Turkish Air Force, whose aircraft helped ensure the security of Polish skies today. We also thank the Bundeswehr for its involvement and support with both the aircraft and the Patriot system, which have strengthened the protection of Polish airspace.

The activated ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have returned to standard operational activity.

We confirm that no violations of Polish airspace were observed.
