During the 32nd International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO) at Targi Kielce, scheduled for September 3-6 this year, the company Transbit from Warsaw presented the concept for the development of a New Mobile Communication Node (NMWŁ).
The New Mobile Communication Node (NMWŁ) is intended for undertaking tasks related to the preparation of the communication subsystem to support command and control of troops, particularly to provide access points for tactical command posts, sensors, and devices gathering information from the battlefield, enabling data exchange through a radio/microwave backbone network.
The company presented a proposal to utilize any chassis currently in service with the Polish Armed Forces or from Polish industry that meets the requirements for mast transportation.
The first variant includes a light chassis, such as the Light Reconnaissance Vehicle (LPR) Legwan from the Rosomak company or HMWWV, with an automatically deployable 30-meter lattice mast towed on a trailer.
The second variant includes a heavy chassis, such as the Oshkosh M-ATV or AMZ-Kutno Bóbr-3, with a built-in automatic 15-meter mast mounted on the side of the vehicle.
The communication network equipment can be placed on a trailer in the first variant or on the vehicle itself in the second variant. By housing the equipment in cases, they are adapted for remote operation outside the vehicle from a safe position.
Basic equipment of the New Mobile Communication Node:
- mast, one to three RFU-IV blocks of the R-460C digital relay station
- 1 case: BBU (Baseband Unit) control block for band IV and RP-210-01 onboard router
Extended equipment of the New Mobile Communication Node:
- 2nd case: two network service servers SUS-24-01 and onboard switch SP-210-02
- Virtual mast – a communication system based on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with the R-450C radio station. By connecting the UAV to the ground station via a power cable, it ensures multi-hour hovering operation.
The final configuration of the New Mobile Communication Node will be tailored to the requirements of the Polish Armed Forces.
