Proceedings of Last Year’s SAFE PLACE Congress
Running in parallel with the Congress are practical workshop panels, such as response to terrorist attacks, first aid in attack situations, technical security measures, and cybersecurity. This ensures that participants make full and meaningful use of their time in an engaging and diverse format. The organizers strive to maintain a friendly and collaborative atmosphere, fostering professional, academic, and expert connections. The Congress program also includes a variety of cultural and networking events, such as a gala banquet, demonstrations of the latest counterterrorism equipment (by the Police and the Polish Armed Forces), and technical security showcases.
Issues Related to Infrastructure and Potential Threats
During the Congress, a wide range of key topics related to civil protection and civil defense are addressed. Discussions will include the preparedness of facilities for wartime conditions, hybrid and criminal threats, and building the resilience of facilities and public spaces against attacks. Another major theme will be security management in critical infrastructure and facilities subject to mandatory protection, as well as in non-mandatory facilities.
Topics related to the implementation of international civil defense requirements in Poland will also be discussed.
In the area particularly relevant to local governments, the Congress will cover issues such as building resilience at the county, municipal, and city levels, response to life- and health-threatening attacks, first aid during such incidents, and safety education within organizations and facilities. Further sessions will explore threats and opportunities for facility administrators in light of the amendments to the Crisis Management Act, as well as the security of military facilities and installations, fire safety of buildings and spaces, and challenges and prospects for the security industry in the context of the implementation of the NIS-2, CER, and DORA Directives. The Congress will also discuss cybersecurity management within organizations and facilities.
