On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, War Studies University and Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) signed a Letter of Intent on developing cooperation between the academic community and the defense industry. The document paves the way for closer relations in personnel development, experience sharing, and the joint use of expert and research potential to strengthen national security.

The Letter of Intent was signed by the Rector of War Studies University, Dr. Mieczysław Gocuł, a retired general, and Adam Leszkiewicz, President of the Management Board of Polish Armaments Group.
The agreement is an important step toward deepening cooperation between two communities that play a significant role in the state security and defense system: academia and the domestic defense industry. Joint activities will focus on competence development, the exchange of knowledge and experience, and the use of the analytical, educational, and research potential of War Studies University.
As Adam Leszkiewicz, President of the Management Board of PGZ, emphasized, the agreement is a step toward strengthening cooperation between the defense industry and the academic community: natural partners in the process of building the state’s defense capabilities.
The planned cooperation will include, among other areas, initiatives related to personnel development, the exchange of expert experience, and the implementation of activities supporting state security. Combining academic knowledge with the practical experience of the defense sector will be of particular importance.
The signing of the Letter of Intent is in line with the mission of War Studies University as an institution educating personnel for the national security system and supporting the development of competencies necessary to strengthen the resilience and defense capabilities of the Republic of Poland.
