On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that, overnight from June 2 to 3 and again this morning, it had carried out precision strikes on energy infrastructure facilities in St. Petersburg and on a naval base in nearby Kronstadt. The strikes coincided with the opening of the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), described in the media as Russia’s Davos.

According to the statement, the attacks in northwestern Russia were part of a broader operation. The targets hit included the St. Petersburg Oil Terminal in St. Petersburg, about 1,100 km from the front line; the Michurinsk Progress Plant in Michurinsk, Tambov Oblast, almost 600 km from the front line; and the Novofedorivka air base, formerly Saki-4, in occupied Crimea. In addition, the effects of strikes on the Ilsky oil refinery in Krasnodar Krai, which took place a day earlier, are still being assessed. It was also stated that the previously attacked refinery in Zenzevatka, Volgograd Oblast, had suspended operations.
As mentioned, the most important target was the St. Petersburg Oil Terminal, where a series of powerful explosions and fires occurred. The oil terminal is one of the largest petroleum product transshipment complexes on the Baltic Sea and plays an important role in ensuring the export and logistics of the Russian Federation’s fuel resources. Its throughput capacity is 10 million tons per year. The facility is used to support the needs of Russian military formations.
In addition, according to preliminary information, ships and infrastructure facilities at the nearby naval port in Kronstadt were hit. The RFS Boikiy (532), a Project 20380 Steregushchiy-class missile corvette, was struck, causing a large fire on board.
Following the attack on the Michurinsk Progress Plant, which produces components for precision weapons, a fire broke out and the extent of the damage is still being determined. The company specializes in the production of equipment for flight control systems for missiles, among other weapons, in particular gyroscopic stabilization devices, autopilots, navigation heading indicators and other elements of pilot-navigation systems used in aircraft, missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The RBSN-4N short-range radio navigation system at the Novofedorivka air base in Crimea was also damaged. Among other targets, an ammunition and unmanned aerial vehicle depot in Halytsynivka in occupied Donetsk Oblast, a fuel and lubricants depot in Bilolutsk in occupied Luhansk Oblast, and an enemy command and observation post in Selydove, Donetsk Oblast, were hit.
Based on the results of previous attacks, on June 2, damage was confirmed to a technological overpass, the AVT primary oil refining unit, and two RVS-5000 fuel tanks at the Ilsky refinery. It is one of the largest refining enterprises in southern Russia. Its processing capacity is about 6.6 million tons of crude oil per year. The plant produces petroleum products used in particular to supply the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
As mentioned, the suspension of crude oil production at the pumping station of the refinery in Zenzevatka was confirmed as a result of yesterday’s attack.
In addition, it was confirmed that shelters for military personnel were destroyed in an attack on May 30 at the Prymorskyi Posad training ground in the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Russian losses amounted to about 30 personnel.
