On Saturday, June 6, 2026, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported another strike on the Russian naval base in Kronstadt, located near St. Petersburg. The nearby Arsenal and oil infrastructure in Leningrad Oblast were also hit, along with other facilities in the Russian Federation and in occupied Ukrainian territories.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was the first to report the strikes, noting that they were a response to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s rejection of a one-on-one meeting on ending the war, which Zelenskyy had proposed in an open letter published two days earlier. Previously, on June 3, St. Petersburg and Kronstadt had been targeted in a Ukrainian strike.
„It is time to end this war. But Russia’s ruler wants to keep fighting. That is why Ukrainian sanctions against this aggression are working. Last night, our drones covered a distance of about 1,000 kilometers to the St. Petersburg region – to the enemy navy’s arsenals and a base in Kronstadt. Our long-range sanctions also reached about 500 kilometers into the Krasnodar region – and hit an oil depot. These are important results of the joint efforts by warriors from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine. Russia must end its war and stop its attacks on life. Any manifestation of injustice against Ukraine will receive a just response. I thank our warriors for their precision.”

Later, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine provided details of the strikes:
On June 5 and overnight on June 6-7, 2026, units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces attacked a number of important military and logistics facilities of the Russian occupation forces:
- The base in Kronstadt (St. Petersburg, Leningrad Oblast, Russia) was attacked. Explosions were recorded at the site, and the extent of the damage is currently being assessed. Kronstadt is a major hub for the basing, repair, and supply of Baltic Fleet ships in the eastern Baltic Sea, and also controls maritime access to St. Petersburg.
- The St. Petersburg oil depot (Lomonosov, Leningrad Oblast, Russia), was also attacked. A hit, an explosion, and a fire were recorded at the facility.
- In addition, the Neste oil terminal (Lomonosov, Leningrad Oblast, Russia), was damaged. A fire was recorded at the terminal, and the extent of the damage is currently being clarified. The terminal is a key facility for the distribution of petroleum products, including gasoline and diesel fuel, in northwestern Russia. Its single-time storage capacity is 40,000 cubic meters of light petroleum products.
- An ammunition depot (an arsenal) of the weapons, missile, ammunition, and military equipment storage complex of the 1060th Logistics Center (the village of Bolshaya Izhora, Leningrad Oblast, Russia), was damaged. Explosions, secondary detonations, and a fire were recorded at the site.
- Among other facilities, an oil depot in Ust-Labinsk (Krasnodar Krai, Russia), was damaged, with a fire recorded at the site. The effects of the strike and the damage caused are currently being clarified. The Ust-Labinsk oil depot is an important logistics hub for the storage and distribution of fuels and lubricants. Through Krasnodar Krai’s rail infrastructure, it is directly involved in supplying fuel to Russian military groupings on the southern and eastern axes.
- Ukrainian troops also attacked a command-and-observation post of an enemy unit near Malinovka (Belgorod Oblast, Russia), and a depot for materiel and technical equipment near Karaichne in occupied Luhansk Oblast.
- Enemy unmanned aerial vehicle control points were also attacked near Voskresenka and Odradne in occupied Donetsk Oblast, as well as near Novofedorivka and Zaliznychne in the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
- Strikes were carried out on areas where Russian forces were concentrated near Pokrovsk and Rodynske in Donetsk Oblast, Petropavlivka in the occupied part of Kharkiv Oblast, and Tyotkino and Anatoliyivka in Kursk Oblast, Russia.
