The 516 Reimagined – the 516-MOHAWK
The SIG Sauer 516 assault rifles was a derivative of the AR-15, sharing many components with the original design. Unlike its predecessor, however, it featured a short-stroke piston system. The original version of the rifle has not been available on the civilian market for years. Now, fans of the piston-driven system who aren’t fully convinced by the MCX platform will once again have an alternative — SIG Sauer is soon adding the feature-packed 516-MOHAWK to its lineup.
At first glance, the 516-MOHAWK already stands out visually from its older sibling. Notable features include a noticeably raised upper receiver, a new extended handguard, and a side charging handle.

Upper Receiver Group
The upper receiver features several notable enhancements. Most visibly, there’s a steel left-side charging handle, reminiscent of the one found on the MCX-SPEAR rifle. The traditional top-mounted charging handle is also still present. Components subject to wear, such as the cam path and the feed ramps, are replaceable in the 516-MOHAWK.

The 16-inch (406 mm), cold hammer-forged, free-floating barrel is almost entirely covered by a new handguard featuring the M-LOK mounting system. At the front of the handguard, cutouts provide access to the gas regulator. The barrel is finished with a standard 1/2×28 thread, fitted with a Flash Hider Compensator muzzle device. It has a 1:7-inch (177 mm) twist rate, and the chamber is designed for 5.56×45 mm NATO ammunition.

Lower Receiver Group
The lower receiver introduces fully ambidextrous controls, including the magazine release, bolt catch, and safety selector. It comes equipped with SIG Sauer’s proprietary AR-Compatible Reduced Angle pistol grip, a Magpul DT stock, and the Matchlite Duo Curved trigger.

CROSS SAWTOOTH chambered in 6.5 PRC
Joining the line of CROSS bolt-action rifles is the CROSS-MAGNUM SAWTOOTH, chambered in 6.5 PRC.
The newest member of the CROSS family is the CROSS-MAGNUM SAWTOOTH, a modified version of the standard MAGNUM model. The primary goal of the design was weight reduction, achieved through the use of a Proof Research carbon fiber-wrapped barrel and a shorter, simplified handguard. The target audience for this new model includes long-range hunters (particularly in the western United States) who pay close attention to every gram of their gear.
