Sporting heritage, “duty lineage,” low-profile purpose
The Staccato HD is the latest product line from the now-iconic manufacturer of 2011-class pistols, which has been building its legacy in this popular segment for decades. Staccato pistols (formerly STI) hold a strong position in the competitive shooting market. The HD line is a new project intended to translate the brand’s well-known quality and performance into the realities of service use by uniformed forces. This new role has resulted in a completely new set of solutions, including compatibility with G17-pattern magazines, a firing-pin safety, and a new optic-mounting system.
The newest member of this family is the HD C4X, a model designed for concealed carry, with dimensions comparable to those of a Glock 19.
The HD C4X is intended to deliver competition-level performance and control in a compact size class that represents a “golden mean” between full-size and subcompact designs. It is essentially the earlier HD C3.6 model, but fitted with a slightly longer frame that shrouds the integrated compensator from below. This is meant to provide even better control over muzzle rise.
Like all other HD pistols, the new model can come standard with accessories such as a flared magazine well and a slide-mounted optic. As a result, the manufacturer’s listed price falls within the range of 3,499–3,899 USD.
