Savage 110 RF – The Next .22LR PRS Contender?

The Savage 110 RF is a truly modern .22LR sporting rifle that stands out with a set of interesting features rarely found among competitors. The launch includes three models:

• 110 RF Core Tactical – a system set in the new AccuFit V2 stock with an adjustable buttstock and grip,
• 110 RF Elite Precision – a system housed in an aluminum chassis designed with PRS in mind,
• 110 RF Magpul – a system paired with the well-known and popular Magpul polymer stock.

One of the most important features of the 110 RF is its configurable bolt. By “configurable,” this refers to the ability to adjust the length of its travel. It can operate with a short throw typical of .22LR, or with a significantly longer throw that simulates that of .308 platforms. The configuration requires only reversing a single bolt component and does not require any tools. This makes it possible to simulate the operation of a centerfire rifle while benefiting from lower ammunition costs. It is also a feature for those who want the feel of shooting something more substantial than a .22.

Gone is the thin, delicate magazine – the 110 RF uses a new design that mimics the size of a centerfire magazine. Compatible with AI standards, it is also adjustable for reliable feeding. Thanks to this, the 110 RF looks like a true long-range rifle.

The new rimfire rifle is a direct carryover of the updated Model 110 platform’s features—meaning its action is compatible with aftermarket accessories already available on the market, such as stocks and trigger systems.

Among the other features of the Savage 110 RF are:

• a newer-generation adjustable AccuTrigger,
• a match chamber,
• locking lugs on the bolt head,
• a replaceable bolt handle (5/16×24 thread),
• a one-piece 20 MOA Picatinny rail,
• a 1/2×28 muzzle thread for muzzle devices,
• a 20-inch (508 mm) barrel.
