President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy:
“Repair work is underway following Russia’s attack on our regions. Once again, there was a targeted strike against energy facilities—Russians used a significant number of ballistic missiles combined with other missiles, more than 70 missiles in total, as well as 450 attack drones. The strikes affected the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, the Kyiv region and the capital, as well as the Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Vinnytsia regions. So far, nine people have been injured as a result of the attack. Residential buildings and energy infrastructure have been destroyed. In Kyiv, drone attacks caused fires in high-rise buildings and damaged a kindergarten. All necessary services have been deployed wherever possible.
Using the coldest days of winter to terrorize people is more important to Russia than resorting to diplomacy. This clearly shows what our partners need to do and what can help. Timely deliveries of missiles for air defense systems and the protection of normal life are our priorities. Without pressure on Russia, this war will not end. At this moment, Moscow is choosing terror and escalation, which is why maximum pressure is necessary. I thank all our partners who understand this and are helping us.”
