Importantly, HPE’s US partner, Barrday, was also present at POLSECURE. The company supplies innovative personal ballistic protection solutions for the law enforcement and military markets, using the latest production technologies. HPE uses Barrday’s aramid fabrics and polyethylene plates to manufacture its soft and hard ballistic inserts.
In the video below, Tony Fiorenzini, President of Barrday, presents the capabilities of the company’s products and discusses the scope of its cooperation with HPE:
Barrday offers materials using aramid fibers and ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), and is also developing its own resin-processing technology to provide protection against a full range of ballistic threats. The company’s portfolio includes fabrics, prepregs, film laminates, and materials based on aramid, structural glass, and polyethylene fibers, as well as thermoset and thermoplastic resin systems.
Examples of applications include add-on armor and spall liners for land vehicles and maritime applications; seat, cockpit, and floor armor for aircraft and helicopters; military, law enforcement, and commercial helmets; and NIJ-compliant plates, panels, and shields. One of Barrday’s customers is Polish company HPE, which uses its components to manufacture its own ballistic protection products.
