Russian forces carried out ballistic missile strikes at four locations in the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kyiv regions.
The attack was repelled by aviation, air defense missile units, electronic warfare (EW) units, unmanned systems, and mobile air defense groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, as of 9:30 a.m. local time, air defense systems had shot down or caused the loss of 247 aerial targets, including 2 Iskander-M missiles, 5 Iskander-K missiles, and 240 drones, over the north, south, east, and central parts of the country. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy:
“Nearly 300 attack drones, mostly Shaheds, along with 18 ballistic missiles and seven cruise missiles, were launched by Russia against Ukraine last night. Once again, the main targets were our power plants and electricity substations. Unfortunately, there has been extensive damage to residential and civilian infrastructure. The Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Donetsk regions were attacked.
With no military objective whatsoever, Russia shelled a postal terminal in Korotych, in the Kharkiv region, killing four people. I extend my condolences to their families and loved ones. The situation in the Kyiv region remains difficult—hundreds of thousands of households are currently without electricity. All emergency services are on the scene. Points of Invincibility have been set up. As always, wherever Russia tries to destroy, Ukrainians support one another, and internal resilience is needed now more than ever.
Every such attack on human life is a reminder that support for Ukraine must not be halted. Missiles for air defense systems are needed every day, especially in winter. The world can respond to this Russian terror with new aid packages for Ukraine. We expect an acceleration of deliveries already agreed with America and Europe. Russia must understand that cold will not help it win this war. We thank everyone who is helping.”
Під ударами були… pic.twitter.com/IsXkxLRIWd
