On Friday, May 29, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced on social media the detention of an employee of a company belonging to Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) on suspicion of espionage.

„We are not only signing very important defense contracts under the SAFE program, but also properly protecting the Polish defense industry.
On May 27, pursuant to a decision by the district prosecutor in Poznań, Military Affairs Division, a Polish citizen and employee of one of the PGZ Group plants was detained on espionage charges on behalf of a foreign state under Article 130, paragraph 2. The evidence was gathered by the Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW), with support from the Internal Security Agency (ABW).
On May 29 this year, the District Court in Poznań ruled to apply preventive measures in the form of pre-trial detention for a period of three months.”

Internal Security Agency statement:
„On May 27, 2026, officers from the Poznań Branch Office of the Internal Security Agency (ABW), as part of an investigation conducted under the supervision of the 8th Military Affairs Division of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Poznań, detained a Polish citizen, a civilian employee of one of the companies within Polish Armaments Group. The detainee is accused of committing an offense under Article 130 § 2 of the Criminal Code.
The District Court in Poznań granted the prosecutor’s request to apply a preventive measure against the suspect in the form of three months of pre-trial detention.
In the interest of the ongoing proceedings, no further details will be provided in this case.”
