Bridge in Głuchołazy opened
A new bridge over the Biała Głuchołaska River in Głuchołazy, carrying national road DK40, has been formally opened in a ceremony attended by Minister Marcin Kierwiński. The bridge was rebuilt after the previous structure was destroyed during the 2024 floods. Construction of the new crossing took a year and a half—the contract was signed in February 2025, and the bridge is now fully operational.
In addition, 17 strategic projects have already been completed in the region, while another 60 investments remain under way. The statement also notes that Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego provided non-repayable funding totaling 516 million PLN for the construction, renovation, or purchase of more than 1,000 homes for people affected by the floods.
Nearly 280,000 people trained through the Civil Protection and Civil Defence Academy
The Civil Protection and Civil Defence Academy (OLiOC Academy) is a series of events during which citizens receive training from specialists in civil protection and civil defense. Sessions are held, among other occasions, as part of regional Firefighter’s Day celebrations, at training points organized during Training Day events, and during dedicated special events. According to the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, nearly 280,000 people have already been trained through the Academy.
Polish firefighters in Spain
A total of 105 Polish firefighters, deployed in three rotations, make up the GFFF Poland (Ground Forest Fire Fighting) module stationed in Spain from August 1 to 30 to support efforts against severe wildfires. Modules of this type operate in areas inaccessible to fire engines. Their work relies primarily on the use of hand tools.

The activities are being carried out under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, which reinforces cooperation between European emergency services.”
