“The past year was a period of further, consistently pursued development. However, the difficult environment associated with the high cost of capital, expensive energy, and continued wage-growth pressure affected our margins. At the end of 2025, we were working on numerous prototypes, some of which will enter serial production this year. This allows us to look to the future with optimism. The implementation, together with Polski Holding Rozwoju, of a contract for NATO forces should be extremely important for future results. The contract concerns the construction of transport-platform components with a maximum gross value of 59 million PLN. As part of this order, we have already completed design work and final arrangements with the customer, and we are now preparing to send the prototypes for extensive testing, during which they will undergo the required trials. Due to the requirements concerning operating conditions, the wide temperature range in which the platforms are to operate, and other requirements they must meet, these tests will be fairly complex. In the second half of this year, we should start serial production, which would be in line with the previously adopted schedule. In carrying out such a large contract, we intend to support production with robotic workstations. The decision to invest in automation of the production plant was preceded by detailed analyses and should significantly improve our production efficiency in the coming years,” commented Krzysztof Kosiorek-Sobolewski, President of Zakład Budowy Maszyn ZREMB Chojnice.
In 2025, the company carried out 80% of its contracts for the armed forces. This represents an increase compared with previous years and is related to the international situation and the fact that NATO countries are increasing defense spending. Thanks to investments in production infrastructure, modern CNC machinery, and production automation, the company is prepared for an increase in orders and the related technical requirements.
“Our current backlog is at a satisfactory level. The vast majority of orders are defense-sector contracts. We see strong potential to secure further orders in this area. At the same time, we are also seeing a recovery in the offshore industry. This is the result of a significant increase in crude-oil prices due to the conflict in the Middle East,” added Krzysztof Kosiorek-Sobolewski.
ZREMB Chojnice specializes in the production of specialized containers and transport platforms, mainly for the defense sector. In addition, it manufactures offshore-type containers used, among other things, on drilling platforms, as well as specialized containers for other industries. Container production is often carried out comprehensively, from design through manufacturing to the approval processes. Another production segment comprises steel structures of various types, mainly those with a high degree of manufacturing complexity. Exports account for a significant share of production, chiefly to European Union countries. The company has many of its own structural solutions for containers, including their approvals for use, which is important for expanded and repeat orders. ZREMB also conducts research and development work on innovative solutions in the field of containers and other modular systems.
