On Thursday, January 22, 2026, the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command (DO RSZ) issued a statement reporting increased activity by small unmanned aerial vehicles operating over the Polish–Belarusian border.

“We inform that on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, during the evening hours, increased activity of small unmanned aerial vehicles operating over the Polish–Belarusian border was observed. This activity was continuously monitored by military radar systems. No threat to the security of the airspace of the Republic of Poland was identified.
At the same time, it should be emphasized that incidents of this kind are part of hybrid activities undertaken by the Belarusian side, aimed at destabilizing the security situation and testing the air defense system of the Republic of Poland.
The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, together with its subordinate forces and assets, is continuously monitoring the situation on the country’s eastern border and remains in constant readiness to ensure the security of Polish airspace.”
