On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, Poland’s Ministry of National Defence announced the arrest of a long-serving employee of the ministry who has been charged with cooperating with a foreign intelligence service.

“We inform that earlier today, in the morning hours, a long-serving employee of the Ministry of National Defence was detained at the ministry’s headquarters (Niepodległości Avenue, Warsaw). The detainee is suspected of cooperating with a foreign intelligence service. The case is being handled by the Military Counterintelligence Service, which cooperated during the detention with the Department for Military Affairs of the National Prosecutor’s Office and the Military Gendarmerie. Procedural activities are currently ongoing.”
