On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced on social media that the airfield at the 32nd Tactical Air Base in Łask (32nd TAB) had been certified by the United States following infrastructure upgrades to enable the stationing of a squadron of Lockheed Martin F-35A Husarz multirole aircraft.

“The airfield in Łask has successfully passed U.S. certification of the expanded infrastructure for F-35 aircraft, which was carried out at the 32nd Tactical Air Base in Łask. This is an important stage in the process of introducing these modern aircraft into service with the Polish Air Force. We are implementing this plan consistently and effectively. Today Polish pilots are training in the United States. Soon they will be carrying out missions in our skies,” the head of the Ministry of National Defense wrote on the X social media platform.
On February 5 this year, when the Ministry of National Defense announced that the first two F-35A aircraft, which are expected to be redeployed directly to the 32nd Air Base probably in May, were nearing the end of production and had entered the painting stage, it was also noted that a modern zone with full infrastructure for these aircraft had been completed at the base by the end of 2025.
According to the schedule, two additional aircraft are to arrive in Łask in July, while the second squadron will later be assembled at the 21st Tactical Air Base in Świdwin.
The main infrastructure requirements for the permanent basing of F-35A aircraft at a land-based air base stem from U.S. Air Force (USAF) documentation, including Environmental Impact Statements, reports by the RAND think tank, and Unified Facilities Criteria. Compared with F-16 infrastructure, these requirements include necessary upgrades related to the protection of reduced radar cross-section coatings (RAM/LO), the ODIN (Operational Data Integrated Network) logistics system, and technology security.
The most important unique requirements include larger hangars with controlled temperature and humidity for maintaining RAM/LO coatings, as well as dedicated operational and training facilities such as workshops, storage facilities, a Full Mission Simulator (FMS), and specialized technical and IT infrastructure. Modernization is also required for the power grid, communications and navigation systems, cybersecurity protections, and security zones.
