According to the announced information, the new license agreement covers the period through 2034. The rights related to the modernization and maintenance of the vehicles, in turn, remain valid until the end of 2064. The agreement provides for the automatic renewal of the license for subsequent periods unless either party raises an objection. Rosomak S.A., which supplies vehicles to the Polish Armed Forces, has obtained unrestricted rights to carry out modernization and modification of the vehicles, including the introduction of new variants.

The first Rosomak wheeled armored personnel carriers were delivered to the Polish Armed Forces in January 2005. Over many years, they have received positive assessments regarding their operation – both in Poland and during operational deployments in Chad, Romania, and Afghanistan. Currently, more than 750 vehicles in various versions and configurations are in service. Approximately 100 have been transferred to Ukraine as military assistance in its fight against Russia.

The ceremony was attended by Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence; Paweł Bejda, State Secretary at the Ministry of National Defence; and Konrad Gołota, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of State Assets.
“Poland is building a new security architecture – one of its most important elements is NATO, the Polish–American alliance, the European Union, and increased defense spending. (…) Between Poland and Finland there is a genuine alliance of capabilities and skills. One of the vectors of Poland’s new security architecture is the Baltic–Scandinavian vector. Today we are taking another step by strengthening production capabilities in Siemianowice Śląskie at Rosomak S.A.,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
“Rosomak vehicles are one of the flagships of PGZ and the Polish defense industry. Produced in several variants, these vehicles have become a permanent part of the equipment system of the Polish Armed Forces. For many weeks, intensive negotiations had been underway regarding the extension of the license agreement valid until 2028. Ultimately, the agreement extends the period of cooperation by a further six years and includes a number of provisions important for PGZ and our role in this partnership,” said Adam Leszkiewicz, President of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A.
“The signing of the agreement aligns with the state’s priorities in the area of technical modernization and strengthening national security. Maintaining access to a proven armored vehicle platform produced in Poland guarantees both continuity of deliveries to the Polish Armed Forces and the possibility of further improving solutions developed in cooperation with foreign industry,” said Cezary Dominiak, President of Rosomak S.A.
Currently, Rosomak S.A. is implementing the first contract for the delivery of 80 Rosomak-L wheeled armored personnel carriers, which are to be integrated with the ZSSW-30 turret system. It cannot be ruled out that further orders will be placed by the Armament Agency in the coming years. In addition, the design is attracting interest on export markets – worth noting is the fact that the Rosomak APC has been included among products of the Polish defense industry that may be financed under the European SAFE program.
