The company Pagacz Defence Group from Toruń (formerly known as Pagacz i Synowie Sp. z o.o.) has announced that it is beginning the production process of new PP-81/M-64 panoramic goniometers for a foreign customer. The goniometers will be manufactured in the 64-00 variant, which is a NATO standard. The new solution is intended to represent a significant step toward increased interoperability and to ensure that artillery equipment complies with NATO requirements.

The PP-81/M-64 periscopic observation instrument is designed for battlefield observation and aiming. The device was developed for the precise conduct of indirect fire, both in daytime and nighttime conditions. The use of the M-64 standard ensures full compatibility with NATO procedures and with instruments used for horizontal angle measurements, which is of key importance during combined operations and international exercises.
The launch of production is part of the company’s long-term strategy aimed at developing domestic industrial capabilities in the field of optoelectronics and artillery equipment. As emphasized by the manufacturer, the PP-81/M-64 project was created in response to growing demand for equipment compliant with NATO standards, both from the Polish Armed Forces and from foreign customers.

Such solutions are not the first to be scaled to the 6,400 mil system, as Pagacz Defence Group has previously modified and delivered to the Polish Armed Forces goniometer-compasses and fire-control instruments PKO-87 / PUO-9 adapted to a horizontal angle scale of 6,400 = 360° (until just over a decade ago, artillery of former Warsaw Pact countries used a 6,000 mil scale).
The first production units of the PP-81 goniometers are scheduled to be delivered for qualification testing to a foreign customer in April 2026. Successful completion of these tests will pave the way for serial production and the further development of the panoramic goniometer family offered by Pagacz Defence Group. The devices will debut at the IDEB – Defence & Security 2026 exhibition in Bratislava, Slovakia, held from April 12 to 14, 2026, at the Pagacz Defence Group exhibition stand.
