What Is the Vortex Ace Weather Meter Designed to Provide?
An additional feature is an integrated compass, but that’s not all. The Vortex Ace is integrated with the GeoBallistics ballistic calculator, which provides the shooter with all essential data in real time. Users can store up to 10 of their own “ballistic profiles,” i.e. settings based on the weapon and ammunition in use. All data are displayed on a 2-inch screen in four different layouts, selectable according to the shooter’s needs:
- Advanced – a set of essential data with the ability to make real-time adjustments,
- Simple – a simplified data display,
- Wind – a dedicated mode presenting additional wind-related information,
- Mover – a mode optimized for engaging moving targets.
In addition to ballistic profiles, users can also store DOPE cards (range cards) in the device’s memory, which can be updated in real time using sensor readings. The device is operated via an intuitive interface consisting of prominent rubberized buttons.
Importantly, the Vortex Ace can function both as a standalone device and as part of the Vortex Relay system. This system enables the creation of an information network that may include binoculars, handheld rangefinders, weapon-mounted ballistic calculators, specialized optics, and the new Ace weather station.
