Spartan MK2 – MILICON Raises the Bar on Quality
The new Spartan MK2 carbines are manufactured by a new contractor – Patriot Ordnance Factory (POF), a long-standing partner of MILICON. While they may appear at first glance to be standard AR-15 rifles, they incorporate design solutions characteristic of POF.
The latest edition of our workhorse. The Milicon Spartan MK2 embodies the essence of our philosophy – SERVING GOOD GUYS IN BAD LANDS. Drawing lessons from feedback coming directly from the front lines, we decided to significantly raise the quality and durability of our firearms. At first, this task seemed daunting. However, thanks to long-term cooperation with leading firearms manufacturers, we were able to raise the bar even higher. Our long-standing partners at POF-USA played a key role in this process. They built the rifle to our specifications while also implementing our quality system. This was a critical element, and the most challenging one, because what does it really mean if most firearms pass testing, yet a small fraction still fails to meet requirements and slips through quality control? That fraction matters when the rifle is going into the hands of someone you’ve known for years and truly care about. That is why we decided to change our manufacturing partner and chose POF-USA. There is no higher level to aim for. We hope the rifle will be met with your positive reception.

Features of the new Spartan
Upper Receiver Assembly
The “heart” of the new Spartan rifles is a 4150 chrome–vanadium steel barrel, button-rifled with a 1:7 twist rate. The barrels additionally undergo a stress-relief annealing process, intended to increase material durability. The selected finish is ferritic nitrocarburizing. Each barrel is capped with a standard 1/2×28 thread, fitted with an A2 flash hider.
The barrels feature a proprietary Patriot Ordnance Factory enhancement – the E² system. Four special grooves are machined into the chamber, running along the case neck. During firing, these grooves fill with gas and assist in extracting the cartridge case from the chamber, improving overall reliability.
The gas system used is the classic internal piston system, commonly referred to as direct impingement (DI). For the 11.5-inch barrel, a carbine-length gas system is used, while the two longer barrel options employ a mid-length system.
The bolt carrier group is a standard M4 BCG (carrier made of 8620 steel, bolt of 9310 steel, and a 4140 steel gas key). Like the barrel, the bolt carrier group is finished using ferritic nitrocarburizing. Another proprietary POF solution is used here – the Roller Cam Pin. This redesigned cam pin features a roller at its end, significantly improving the smoothness of bolt locking and unlocking while reducing wear inside the upper receiver.
The bolt uses a standard extractor claw, enhanced with a heavy-duty spring, O-ring, and an M4 Heavy Duty insert.
The upper receiver itself is mil-spec, forged from 7075-T6 aluminum and finished with Mil-Spec Type III Class 2 hard-coat anodizing. Mated to the upper receiver is a Mission First Tactical Extreme Duty M-LOK handguard, made from 6061-T6 aluminum.
Lower Receiver Assembly
The lower receiver is manufactured to the same specification as the upper receiver. Inside, it houses a standard military-spec trigger mechanism. The assembly is completed with B5 Systems components, including the Enhanced Bravo stock and the P-23 pistol grip. Inside the receiver extension, a carbine buffer is used. The rifles are supplied with MFT magazines.
