MILTAC to supply ammunition for the Polish Biathlon Union
The procurement procedure (ZP 01/2026) conducted by the Polish Biathlon Union was intended to select a supplier of .22LR rimfire ammunition for the needs of:
- the PZBiath national teams,
- Sports Excellence Schools in biathlon,
- Youth Biathlon Sports Training Centers of the Polish Biathlon Union.
The contract specified two particular ammunition types, with equivalent types also considered. The first is SK Lapua Standard Plus ammunition in a quantity of 800,000 rounds; the second is LAPUA Polar Biathlon in a quantity of 150,000 rounds. The most advantageous offer was deemed to be that submitted by MILTAC Sp. z o.o., headquartered in Łazy. The selection criterion for the most advantageous offer was the total gross sales price ‒ the company received the maximum score of 100 points.

Two types of ammunition
Both ammunition types feature a 40-grain (2.59 g) bullet. SK Standard Plus is positioned in the manufacturer’s catalog as entry-level training ammunition, intended to be a reliable yet affordable choice for any shooter. Lapua Polar Biathlon, in turn, is ammunition produced strictly for biathlon competition. According to the manufacturer, it is specially adapted for reliable performance in all conditions, primarily at sub-zero temperatures.

The Nammo Group, which includes the SK and Lapua brands, has for many years been one of the dominant manufacturers in the sports segment, where high precision and factory ammunition consistency are the priority. The Polish Biathlon Union relied for many years on the offering of Incorsa. MILTAC, having taken over the licensed portion of its operations, continues the tradition and ongoing cooperation with the biathlon community.
