On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, the second day of the 29th edition of Eurosatory 2026, the international defense industry trade show organized by Coges Events, taking place June 15-19 of this year in Paris-Nord Villepinte near Paris, Mesko, part of the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), signed another significant cooperation agreement with Belgian company Thales Belgium, strengthening domestic defense industry production capabilities in Poland.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Belgian Minister of Defense Theo Francken and PGZ First Vice President Arkadiusz Bąk, representing PGZ’s management board. Signing on behalf of Mesko were Presdient Renata Gruszczyńska and Board Member Krzysztof Marwicki, and on behalf of Thales Belgium ‒ Director Alain Quevrin.
The cooperation envisages the relocation of key activities, technologies, and competencies to Poland, including rocket motor assembly and the production of key components by PGZ subsidiaries. Mesko serves as Thales’s main partner in Poland for 70mm (2.75″) rockets. This agreement is in line with the strategic goal of strengthening Poland’s sovereign capabilities in the defense sector.
The Thales FZ275 LGR laser-guided 70mm rocket is a breakthrough combat solution, particularly due to its effectiveness in countering drone threats from multiple military platforms. A key element of this cooperation is the introduction of innovative solutions expanding the range of applications and multiplying the performance of 70mm rocket systems in Poland.
The FZ275 LGR guided missile is 1.8 m in length and weighs 12.7 kg. It can engage targets at distances from 1.5 to 7 km, with semi-active laser guidance, carrying a 4.1 kg fragmentation-blast warhead containing Composition B (a mixture of 64% RDX and 36% TNT), penetrating ST37-2 steel 6 mm thick.
“Today we have combined technology transfer, resources, and production capabilities to create, together with Thales Belgium, a partnership cooperation that is key in terms of creating innovative solutions in the area of expanding the applications of 70mm rocket systems. This is a response to the increasing demands of the defense sector and another step in developing Polish capabilities to strengthen both the Polish and European defense industry,” said Renata Gruszczyńska, President of the Management Board of Mesko.
The signed Memorandum also covers the development of new solutions in the area of effectors and propulsion systems, strengthening not only the expansion of Polish production capabilities in the rocket domain, but also the position of the Polish defense industry.

Meanwhile, at Eurosatory 2026, Thales Belgium presented a new variant of the 70mm rocket designated LGR275 Proxy, designed specifically to counter Class 1 and Class 2 unmanned aerial systems.
The LGR275 Proxy is equipped with a proximity fuze and a new warhead optimized for aerial targets.
The laser-guided rocket, suitable for both air-to-air and surface-to-air applications, is also a testament to Thales Belgium’s innovation and industrial flexibility, with production planned to triple between 2026 and 2028. In response to growing international demand, Thales Belgium is strengthening its industrial presence and proximity to strategic customers to ensure reliable and efficient deliveries meeting growing international needs.
“Building on our already proven laser-guided rocket solutions, Thales provides a solution to strengthen nations’ defence readiness against drone threat, one of the key challenges of our times. Thales Belgium is the leader in NATO standard rockets and our solid production ramp-up allows us to meet the needs of the armed forces,” said Alain Quevrin, Country Director Thales Belgium and Luxembourg, Thales.
