Mactronic SKYLUX 200 — where a mast is not enough
The award-winning system developed by Mactronic Group was created to enable the rapid deployment of lighting and improve operational safety. The SKYLUX 200 uses a tethered drone powered from the ground. The light source rises to a height of up to 12 meters and illuminates the area with uniform 360-degree overhead lighting. This solution is intended to improve visibility, reduce deep shadows, and lower the risk of blinding rescuers and other personnel working at the scene.

Maciej Mocek, President of Mactronic Group, said after receiving the award:
“This is an important distinction for us, as it confirms that innovation makes sense when it responds to real user needs. The SKYLUX 200 was created to enhance the safety of rescue and operational activities. We are pleased that this concept has been recognized precisely at the SAWO trade fair, among experts associated with occupational safety, firefighting, and rescue.”
What is meant to give the SKYLUX 200 its edge?
According to Mactronic, the entire system can be deployed by a single operator, and bringing the SKYLUX 200 into action is expected to take less than five minutes. Deploying the system does not require the erection of masts, the use of heavy equipment, or any technical support infrastructure. The system, with the drone connected by cable, is designed to provide up to 20,000 lumens in an adjustable light output and cover an area of up to 315 m².
Thanks to the use of a tether, the drone’s operating time is not limited by the life of an onboard battery. Continuous power is supplied by connecting the system to a portable power station, a generator, or a 230 V mains supply.
Designed for rescue operations, crisis situations, and industrial applications
The SKYLUX 200 is intended to serve as a practical tool for rescue services and crisis response teams. Its applications include securing:
- accident scenes,
- evacuation zones,
- medical points,
- infrastructure during outages,
- operations conducted in difficult terrain.
The system is expected to offer a significant advantage particularly during search-and-rescue operations in disaster rubble following building collapses, where light directed from above is intended to improve visibility and facilitate the work of rescuers in unstable terrain.
In addition to its broad use in a wide range of crisis situations, the SKYLUX 200 is also expected to prove effective in industry and infrastructure maintenance, including:
- rooftop work,
- technical inspections,
- securing sites that are difficult to access with traditional lighting.
Resistance to harsh conditions
The SKYLUX 200 system is designed for prolonged operation in demanding conditions. According to Mactronic, it is capable of operating in heavy rain, in winds of up to 50 km/h, at temperatures ranging from -20°C to +60°C, and at altitudes of up to 4,500 meters above sea level.
Due to its tethered connection, the device is expected to be less susceptible to radio interference than conventional unmanned aerial systems. This is said to be of particular importance in operations conducted in demanding environments, including the protection of critical infrastructure.
Another advantage of the overall system is expected to be its mobility. Equipped with its own transport case, it can be easily carried, while the 12-meter power cable is reeled in mechanically. This solution is intended to reduce the risk of tangling and speed up the preparation of the equipment for transport.
Mactronic awarded the MTP Gold Medal
The MTP Gold Medal is intended to confirm for the manufacturer that the solution addresses the specific needs of services and users working in the field.
