Tanfoglio Appeal – futuristic .22LR bullpup
Once again, the Best Hunters long gun display surprised us with its scope and the selection of items that set it apart on the market. One of them is the Tanfoglio Appeal semi-automatic carbine, which was impossible to overlook.

A recreational, futuristic bullpup
The Tanfoglio Appeal stands out with its highly futuristic design, which, combined with .22 LR ammunition, makes it a recreational firearm capable of delivering plenty of fun at the range. The “carry handle” integrated into the receiver cover is reminiscent of some fictional designs from the Halo game series. The rail mounted on it practically begs for an equally futuristic-looking, preferably “geometric”, optic. A Holosun AEMS would pair exceptionally well with this carbine.
The Appeal’s design makes extensive use of polymer, contributing to the firearm’s exceptionally low weight. Despite its unconventional appearance, the carbine is highly ergonomic and feels very natural to operate. The elevated sights are easy to align, and using red dot optics should pose no issues. This is not a carbine intended for mounting a PRS-style scope, but that is not its intended role anyway. It is fed from a detachable box magazine, which, once inserted, remains flush within the outline of the firearm.
I can confidently say that the Tanfoglio Appeal is “love at first sight.” Just a brief moment with this firearm at the show, and I already know it’s going on my wishlist. It simply has “that something.” That’s exactly why I strongly encourage all shooters to attend Euro Target Show and similar events. Listening to others’ opinions and browsing firearms online is one thing, but experiencing multiple models in person is something entirely different, especially since trade shows offer a great opportunity to directly compare competing designs.
Who is the Tanfoglio Appeal for?
If you’re looking for a .22 LR carbine primarily for recreational shooting and are bored with common bolt-action rifles, the Tanfoglio Appeal is worth considering. I see it as excellent equipment for beginner shooters, especially younger ones. I think that more dynamic shooting at reactive targets with a futuristic carbine is more likely to spark a young person’s interest in shooting than slowly punching holes in paper with an old wooden-stocked bolt-action rimfire rifle.
For me, it looks like a great fun project. I can already picture it in a geometric camouflage, paired with the right optic. It’s definitely something that will make a shooter stand out at the range.
Although I don’t yet see the carbine listed on the Best Hunters store website, the information card indicates a suggested retail price of 2,490 PLN. At that price – I think it’s well worth trying out.
