From Friday, May 30 to Sunday, June 1, 2025, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence Paweł Zalewski took part in the 22nd IISS Shangri-La Dialogue 2025 security conference in Singapore.

The conference, organized annually by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), is one of the most important security forums in the Asia-Pacific region, bringing together defense ministers, armed forces commanders and experts from more than 40 countries. Deputy Minister Zalewski, together with Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Robert Kupiecki, took part in plenary sessions and discussion panels devoted, among other topics, to defense cooperation, maritime security and cybersecurity challenges. Conference participants discussed the future of the global security order, effective forms of regional cooperation and ways to respond to growing tensions and new threats, both in traditional and new operational domains.
On the sidelines of the conference, the deputy head of the Ministry of National Defence held a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of defense ministries from Indo-Pacific countries, as well as partner countries from outside the region, including Canada, New Zealand, Singapore and Estonia. The talks focused, among other topics, on strengthening military cooperation, exchanging defense-related experience and current challenges to international security. The deputy minister also met with the Commander of the United Nations Command, U.S. General Paul J. Brunson, to discuss Poland’s participation in the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission on the Korean Peninsula.
