CANSEC 2026: New products unveiled at the INKAS exhibition

During CANSEC 2026 in Ottawa, organized by CADSI and scheduled for May 27–28, Canadian company INKAS presented its portfolio, which included two new product premieres.

During CANSEC 2026 in Ottawa, organized by CADSI and scheduled for May 27–28, Canadian armored vehicle manufacturer and systems integrator INKAS Defense and Aerospace presented two new solutions in its product ecosystem: the INKAS MLTV (Modular Light Tactical Vehicle) platform and the INKAS ANURI unmanned aerial vehicle.

INKAS MLTV: Next-generation modular, multirole military tactical vehicle

The INKAS MLTV was displayed at booth 4201 / Photos: INKAS

Designed as a successor to legacy light utility vehicle fleets, the INKAS MLTV was developed under a joint program with INEOS Automotive and WELP Group to meet evolving operational requirements in military and institutional environments.

Built on a proven platform with full factory and life-cycle support, the platform’s modular architecture allows rapid configuration for a wide range of mission profiles, including armored transport, reconnaissance, medical evacuation (MEDEVAC), assault operations, and search and rescue.

A key feature of the MLTV is its scalable, removable ballistic protection system, enabling protection upgrades without compromising the vehicle’s structural integrity or mobility. This flexible approach gives armed and security forces greater operational flexibility while supporting long-term mission readiness in diverse conditions.

Legacy fleets are plagued by limited protection against modern threats and also a high sustainment burden,” said David Khazanski CEO at INKAS®. “This is why the INKAS® MLTV marks a new advancement in the armored light tactical vehicle market. Our platform offers lifecycle support, while being engineered for modularity, mission adaptability, and modern operational mobility.

INKAS ANURI unmanned aerial vehicle: High-speed AI-assisted interceptor drone

The INKAS ANURI was displayed at booth 4202

The INKAS ANURI unmanned aerial vehicle was also unveiled during CANSEC 2026. It was designed for the precise detection, tracking, and neutralization of threats from other drones in order to defend critical facilities and support force protection operations in the field, with a target engagement time of under 80 seconds from a distance of five kilometers.

Designed as a modular counter-unmanned aerial vehicle platform, it can be rapidly launched using a quadrotor vertical takeoff and landing (X-VTOL) system, from a tube launcher, from a vehicle, or by hand, without the need to prepare a launch site.

Thanks to its modular snap-lock nose section, the warhead, sensor, or AI guidance system can be reconfigured within seconds.

The system is operated using an FPV pilot panel or an AI-assisted control terminal, while maintaining continuous operator control.

The ANURI unmanned aerial vehicle was designed to counter threats from both military and commercial FPV drones traveling at speeds of up to 400 km/h and above. It also maintains operational integrity and effectiveness in GNSS/GPS-denied environments thanks to dead reckoning and AI-based image target guidance.

The threat landscape has changed fundamentally for critical site defense and force protection due to low-cost drones,” said Margarita Simkin, Chairwoman at INKAS®. “We designed the ANURI UAV to be an attritable counter-UAS interceptor platform that meets today’s operational realities without relying solely on exquisite defensive systems. Modularity is at its core, enabling operators to rapidly deploy the system, even via hand launch, while supporting payload reconfiguration in seconds.

M1 MRAP

The presentation of both new products follows the unveilings announced last month, including the next-generation M1 MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) armored mine-resistant vehicle, developed in cooperation with French company KNDS Mobility, part of the French-German joint venture KNDS. More on the M1 MRAP here: Premiere of the Canadian-French INKAS M1 MRAP Mine-Resistant Vehicle.

The continued introduction of new products and features reflects INKAS’ ongoing development as a trusted systems integrator within the allied defense ecosystem.
