On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, US company BAE Systems Inc., part of the UK’s BAE Systems, announced that it had begun production of the NavGuide GPS receiver. Initial deliveries are already underway as part of the upgrade to the M-Code standard. At the same time, production of the existing AN/PSN-13A DAGR (Defense Advanced GPS Receiver) has ended.

This portable, field-installable M-Code GPS receiver provides secure positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) for vehicles, handheld devices, and sensor applications.
NavGuide is a direct M-Code upgrade for BAE Systems’ proven predecessor, the Defense Advanced GPS Receiver (DAGR), production of which has ended after more than 20 years of service. NavGuide is backward-compatible with existing DAGR installations and has been designed for rapid deployment with current mounts and accessories without disrupting mission execution. It is available to all US armed services and to allies through the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program.
“NavGuide is more than just a replacement for DAGR,” said Luke Bishop, director of Navigation and Sensor Systems at BAE Systems. “Built on the same trusted foundation for easy installation and transition, it delivers a more resilient, user-friendly M-Code GPS solution. Now in production, NavGuide gives warfighters the precise positioning data and situational-awareness tools they need to stay effective in modern, contested, multi-domain operations.”
NavGuide uses the advanced M-Code GPS signal to increase protection against modern jamming and spoofing threats, while providing reliable PNT (Positioning, Navigation and Timing) even in the most challenging conditions. The compact, lightweight receiver features an intuitive color user interface with waypoint navigation and a moving map, increasing the user’s situational awareness.
Since 2004, more than 650,000 DAGR devices have been fielded worldwide. NavGuide builds on this legacy, offering customers the same form factor, dimensions, and functionality while increasing security and performance through M-Code. BAE Systems has integrated NavGuide with more than 30 existing vehicle platforms, with an average installation time of less than two minutes — without requiring changes to existing vehicle wiring, mounts, or software. This approach allows vehicles to immediately benefit from M-Code’s increased resilience against modern threats without lengthy platform integration. The company will continue to support all DAGR devices currently in service.
BAE Systems has delivered Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) cryptographic modules to more than 45 countries and has begun fielding M-Code GPS receivers in various configurations and capability levels for the US armed forces and allied nations.
Work on BAE Systems’ military GPS products is carried out at the company’s modern engineering and manufacturing facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
