On Thursday, 5 February 2026, UK-based company Allen-Vanguard announced that it had recently received a multi-million-dollar order from an undisclosed South American country for the delivery of electronic warfare (EW) systems, including vehicle-mounted Equinox NG and portable Scorpion 2 systems. Allen-Vanguard specializes in providing customized counter-radio frequency (RF) solutions designed to address terrorist and extremist threats.
The identity of the end user cannot be disclosed due to the operational sensitivity of its armed forces. However, it is known that this represents an initial order, with follow-on procurements expected in the future. The contracted systems will enhance the protection of personnel operating in high-risk environments threatened by radio-controlled improvised explosive devices (RCIEDs) and will help mitigate the growing risk posed by the increasingly widespread use of reconnaissance and armed drones.
Allen-Vanguard brings more than 20 years of experience in delivering tailored electronic countermeasures (ECM) solutions, particularly in countering terrorist and extremist threats involving radio frequency (RF)-based devices. These threats include the continued use of remotely triggered improvised explosive devices targeting security forces, as well as the growing proliferation of unmanned aerial systems employed for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) or strike missions.

Equinox NG
Based on the current threat profile, the South American customer has procured Equinox NG systems, a highly advanced vehicle-based electronic countermeasures (ECM) solution. Its flexible technical architecture has been developed in accordance with leading global electronic warfare standards, ensuring compatibility and seamless integration with core software to provide a sustainable electronic warfare (EW) capability. Combined with a highly adaptable and scalable physical configuration, the system can be readily tailored to a wide range of operational scenarios, from armored vehicles deployed in theatres of operation, through VIP convoy protection, to static, sensitive fixed-site installations. The system can also be configured with relative ease to counter both RCIED threats and unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
Scorpion 2
The Scorpion 2 shares the same technical heritage and similar capabilities as the Equinox, but has been specifically designed to be carried by a soldier or officer in a backpack during patrol operations. Naturally, it can also be vehicle-mounted or deployed in static locations, ensuring maximum flexibility.
The agreement with the customer includes a comprehensive support package covering user and technician training, as well as mission data development. This support also involves the deployment of field service representatives to help build indigenous ECM capabilities and maintain liaison with the company’s Threat Management Team. This team of RF specialists optimizes user-specific algorithms tailored to the end user’s operational needs in order to counter evolving threats specific to its area of operations. Such comprehensive support maximizes the protection offered by ECM-class systems, both in terms of their physical capabilities and the necessary adjustments to tactics, techniques, and procedures required to ensure user safety.
