President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy:
At this moment, 11 people are in hospitals in Dnipro following Russia’s attack on the city. A rescue operation is underway at the site where a residential building was hit. People may still be trapped under the rubble. For almost the entire night, the Russians shelled Dnipro and our other cities and communities. So far, more than 30 people have been reported injured across Ukraine. There are also casualties in Chernihiv, Odesa, and Kharkiv oblasts. Tragically, there are also fatalities… Four people have been killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones.
Russian tactics remain unchanged: attack drones, cruise missiles, and a significant number of ballistic missiles. Most of the targets are civilian infrastructure in cities. Residential buildings, energy facilities, and enterprises have been damaged.
Every such strike must remind our partners that the situation requires immediate and decisive action. We need a rapid strengthening of our air defense, and I am grateful for the decisions made on Thursday during the meetings in Cyprus regarding additional contributions to the PURL initiative. There are political decisions from several European countries, and it is important that they be implemented as soon as possible.
We must also now move forward toward the 21st package of European sanctions against Russia. The pause caused by the blocking of the 20th package gave the aggressor additional time to adapt, and it is important to counter this. We are already in contact with the EU team regarding possible new sanctions steps. The key objective is to significantly limit the capabilities of Russia’s military-industrial complex. Thank you to everyone who is helping!

One of the drone attacks took place in Volyn Oblast, which borders Poland.
For this reason, at 2:04 a.m., the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command issued a statement:
Attention. In connection with the Russian Federation’s attack on the territory of Ukraine, carried out using air attack assets, Polish and allied aircraft have begun operating in our airspace.
In accordance with applicable procedures, the Operational Commander of the Armed Forces activated the necessary forces and assets at his disposal. Among others, quick reaction alert fighters and an early warning aircraft are operating, while ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have reached a heightened state of readiness.
These actions are preventive in nature and are aimed at securing and protecting the airspace, particularly in areas adjacent to threatened regions.
The Armed Forces Operational Command is monitoring the current situation, while subordinate forces and assets remain ready for immediate response.

A violation of Romanian airspace was also recorded. The country’s Ministry of National Defense issued a statement:
“(…) RAF Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft operated strictly within Romanian airspace, in accordance with national and allied rules of engagement. They did not enter Ukrainian airspace at any point during the mission.
Although the pilots were authorized to engage aerial targets, no drone was shot down by the aircraft, as they did not violate Romanian airspace. The mission consisted of surveillance, deterrence, and readiness to respond if necessary.
As stated in previous press releases, ground-based radar systems tracked multiple aerial targets approaching the area near Reni, Ukraine, where explosions were subsequently reported. After that point, contact with the drones was lost. Half an hour later, residents of Galați reported, via the 112 emergency number, that an object had fallen on the outskirts of the city (…).”
According to local media reports, an outbuilding and a power pole were slightly damaged.
