The purpose of the discussions was to explore the prospects and possibilities of cooperation in the implementation of joint C4 projects. The guests from Aselsan had the opportunity to tour the company and familiarize themselves with the integration process of Mobile Communication Nodes MCC1. The Turkish delegation was also interested in WZŁ-1’s capabilities in providing laboratory services.

As emphasized by the President of WZŁ-1, Dr. J. Robert Kudelski:

The numerous projects carried out by WZŁ-1 S.A. for the Polish Armed Forces require experienced and reliable partners. In response to these challenges, we strive to expand the scope of our domestic and international cooperation. Aselsan’s proven solutions can provide our company with new competencies in the production and integration of electronic warfare systems.

The Mobile Communication Nodes MCC1 will provide connectivity between the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) and the national communication system, as well as with the Polish components of the Wisła system. Additionally, they will support the integration of Polish deployable radar stations (ZDPSR) Bystra with the IBCS.

At the same time, the MCC1 will serve as a fundamental component of the communication system for the IBCS, planned for use in the Narew short-range missile systems and additional Wisła systems acquired as part of the second phase of the program.

The contract for the delivery, valued at approximately 233 million PLN gross, for the development and delivery of four MCC1 sets was signed on November 30, 2021. At the end of September 2023, the contracting authority completed the acceptance of the first phase of the project, confirming that the formal documentation requirements were in line with the approved technical specifications. As a result, the contract successfully passed this stage of implementation.

In the meantime, the MCC1 project, recognized for its originality and innovative technical solution, received the DEFENDER Award at the 31st International Defence Industry Exhibition MSPO 2023 in Kielce.

It is worth mentioning that Aselsan is a member of the consortium that developed the Turkish long-range air and missile defense system, Siper (Turkish for “trench”), where it is responsible for radars and electronics. Once implemented, the system is expected to be the equivalent of the American MIM-104 Patriot. On May 12, 2023, the system successfully completed its final operational trials.
