CZ 75 in a Distinctive Design
The CZ 75 belongs to the family of so-called “wonder nines” — iconic 9mm semi-automatic pistols known worldwide. The limited-edition CZ 75 RAF elevates this legendary firearm to the level of an artistic masterpiece, featuring elements inspired by aviation and military pride.

The pistol’s slide features cutouts inspired by the exhaust ports of the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, whose sound forever etched in the memory of Spitfire pilots. The entire surface of the firearm evokes the look of riveted fuselage panels, while the grip panels mimic the wings of the Spitfire. The left grip bears a silver Czechoslovak pilot-observer badge, and the rear slide serrations consist of several circles, echoing the Royal Air Force roundel.
The pistol’s decoration is crowned by a RAF pilot badge on the magazine baseplate, a silver ring on the right side of the frame, and the RAF motto Per ardua ad astra – “Through adversity to the stars.” The aesthetic appeal is further enhanced by controls finished in Rainbow Blue.
The CZ 75 RAF pistols are made from nickel-plated chrome-molybdenum steel. This finish is also applied to the grip panels. Each pistol features a unique serial number, with a format that references the four Czechoslovak RAF squadrons — 310, 311, 312, and 313.
Special Packaging
The packaging of this special edition has been carefully thought out. The pistols come in an aluminum case shaped to resemble a Spitfire oil tank. The lid of the case references a cockpit canopy, while the bottom features an engraved instrument panel. Inside the cardboard box, in addition to the pistol in its case, there is a certificate of authenticity, a replica of the Distinguished Flying Cross, a Spitfire-shaped case key, a brochure about Czechoslovak airmen in the RAF, and a hand-painted artwork depicting a World War II aircraft.
A Tribute to Czechoslovak Airmen
Around 2,500 Czechoslovaks served in the RAF during World War II. Many of them gave their lives fighting for the freedom of their occupied homeland. The CZ 75 RAF is intended as a reminder of their courage, skill, and patriotism.
The idea of paying tribute to these pilots originated in 2019 through a design by master engraver Rene Odra, and its realization began in 2023. During a demanding development process, the worlds of precision engineering, history, and art came together as one. The CZ 75 RAF was created with the involvement of a team of renowned specialists and artists, including designers and engineers from the CZ factory, staff from the Museum of Military History in Prague, world-renowned artist David Černý, acclaimed illustrator Jaroslav Velc, and the aforementioned engraving master Rene Odra. The result of their combined efforts is a harmonious blend of technical excellence, historical authenticity, and aesthetic value.
