On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, the U.S. Army Contracting Command (ACC) at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, acting on behalf of the U.S. Department of Defense, signed a 4,685,369,804 USD contract with Boeing for the production of AH-64E Apache Guardian attack helicopters for export users: Poland, Egypt, and Kuwait.

The contract includes the production of helicopters, training simulators, and associated components, parts, and accessories. The work will be carried out at Boeing’s facilities in Mesa, Arizona, with a completion date of May 30, 2032. Upon signing, initial funding under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program was released for the three countries, totaling USD 2,295,831,204.
Poland
To recap, on August 13, 2024, the Ministry of National Defence ordered a total of 96 AH-64E Apache Guardian helicopters from the United States for approximately 10 billion USD (39.17 billion PLN net / 48.18 billion PLN gross), along with a logistics and training package. These will eventually replace the interim AH-64D Apaches (6 of 8 delivered) used for training, and later the Soviet-era Mi-24D/W in the Army Aviation units.
On September 25 of this year, during a session of the Standing Subcommittee on the Polish Defense Industry and the Technical Modernization of the Polish Armed Forces within the Parliamentary National Defence Committee, it was reported that the delivery plan includes 15 units in 2028, followed by 20 in 2029, 32 in 2030, 21 in 2031, and the final 8 in 2032.
Regarding earlier production contracts related to the Apache Guardian for Poland: on January 8 of this year, the U.S. company GE Aerospace (part of General Electric) announced it had received an order to produce 210 T700-GE-701D turboshaft engines. On June 6, Lockheed Martin received an order for deliveries of the M-TADS/PNVS Arrowhead electro-optical system with higher resolution and accuracy. Meanwhile, on July 18, a batch of AN/APG-78 Longbow fire-control radars was contracted for unspecified export users.
Egypt
Egypt, which has operated Apache helicopters first in the AH-64A variant (36 units since 1995) and later in the AH-64D variant (from 2000 through upgrades of older airframes, and from 2012 through deliveries of an additional 12 factory-new units), has contracted 43 AH-64E helicopters, having received approval to purchase the first batch back in November 2018.
On March 17, 2023, the U.S. Department of Defense signed a 1.946 billion USD contract with Boeing for the production of Apache Guardians for Egypt, as well as for Australia (29 units), which received its first two aircraft on October 2 of this year.
Kuwait
Kuwait received approval at the end of December 2020 to purchase 8 AH-64E Apache Guardian helicopters.
Apache Guardian
So far, in addition to the countries listed above and, of course, the United States (where the AH-64E is set to fully replace the AH-64D), the following nations have decided to purchase the latest Apache Guardian variant (either factory-new or converted from AH-64D airframes): the United Kingdom (50 units), Saudi Arabia (37+24), South Korea (36 — although it later canceled plans for an additional 36), Taiwan (29), the Kingdom of the Netherlands (28), Morocco (24), Qatar (24 with an option for 24 more), India (22 with an option for 11 + 6 with an option for another 6; in August of this year reports emerged about plans to buy 12 from the option), and Indonesia (8). Germany and Bangladesh had also expressed interest, but Germany ultimately opted for 82 light Airbus H145M helicopters.
The Boeing AH-64E Guardian (Apache Block III) is the newest variant of the Apache attack helicopter family, equipped with composite rotor blades, new transmissions and rotor heads, as well as more powerful General Electric T700-GE-701D turboshaft engines with a maximum output of 2,000 hp / 1,491 kW. These changes improved performance, especially maximum speed and climb rate. The electronics, avionics, and software were also upgraded, enabling the use of an improved AN/APG-78 Longbow radar and the aforementioned higher-resolution, higher-accuracy M-TADS/PNVS Arrowhead electro-optical system. In the AH-64E Version 6 (v6) variant, the helicopter gained the ability to cooperate with both manned and unmanned flying platforms (Manned/Unmanned Teaming, MUM-T), as well as full integration with the Link 16 data link. Deliveries of the AH-64E to the U.S. Army began in 2011, and its combat debut took place in Afghanistan in March 2014.
It’s official! We'll build 96 AH-64E Apaches for the Polish Armed Forces.
This contract makes Poland the largest #AH64 operator outside of the U.S. With deliveries expected to begin in 2028, @MON_GOV_PL is already training pilots and maintainers.
