On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, the Armed Forces Operational Command (DO RSZ) announced on social media that a soldier from the Podlasie Military Task Force (WZZ) was injured while preventing an illegal border crossing by a group of aggressive migrants.

“On August 25, 2025, at around 8:00 p.m., near the town of Czeremcha, a soldier from the Podlasie Task Force was injured while preventing an illegal border crossing by a group of aggressive migrants. During the use of direct coercive measures, he sustained an injury to his left hand.”
“At the scene, the soldier was given first aid. He was then immediately transported to a hospital in Białystok, where he received specialist medical care. His condition is stable and his life is not in danger.”
“The Military Police are conducting an investigation at the scene.”
Armed Forces Operational Command
The core of the 3rd rotation of the Podlasie Task Force has been formed by the 16th Mechanized Division, which took over command of Operation Safe Podlasie from the 12th Mechanized Division. Earlier, on July 7 of this year, the operation was expanded to include the border with Lithuania, while on June 7 the buffer zone on the border with Belarus was extended for another 90 days.
