“Poland will no longer be a big piggy bank for foreign companies,” Prime Minister Donald Tusk declared during his visit to the 33rd International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce. This is one of the most important events in Europe and worldwide, attracting the largest companies and institutions connected with military armaments. As the head of government emphasized, Poland’s goal is to strengthen its own production capabilities and, as a result, achieve maximum self-sufficiency when it comes to the ability to defend the homeland. In Kielce, multi-billion contracts are being signed for the equipment of the Polish Armed Forces.

Polish Potential at the Kielce Trade Fair
The International Defence Industry Exhibition serves to showcase the latest world-class military equipment. Increasingly, it features armaments produced in our own country.
“Anyone who has visited the Kielce fair knows how great the potential of Polish companies is in strengthening security and our defense capabilities,” said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Kielce.
As he emphasized, the government’s most important task is to maximize Poland’s participation in all projects related to the armament of our army.
“Poland will no longer be merely a big piggy bank for foreign companies and allied states when it comes to spending money on armaments, defense, and security-related infrastructure,” the head of government declared.
The aim is to strengthen domestic production capabilities in military equipment so as to maximize Poland’s ability to independently defend the country.
To this end, the government is steadily increasing defense spending. In 2026 it will reach a record 200.1 billion PLN – 13.5 billion PLN more than in 2025. This means that next year’s allocation for the Polish Armed Forces will amount to 4.81% of GDP.
Poland as a Leader in Military Equipment
More and more, our country is ceasing to be merely a recipient of foreign armaments and is becoming a serious exporter of military equipment – all in full synchronization with NATO systems.
“It is Poland that is beginning to take the lead when it comes to technology and technical expertise in the most advanced systems,” emphasized the Prime Minister.
In just over a year, Poland has nearly doubled its exports of equipment and technologies produced by our companies.
During the International Defence Industry Exhibition, decisions are also being made to increase funding for the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), and through it, for our civilian and military research institutes as well as Polish state-owned and private companies.
“Thanks to this cooperation, including the signing of a loan agreement with PKO BP for 2 billion PLN – and potentially up to 12 billion PLN in the future – we will build a system capable of absorbing tens of billions of euros, for example from the EU’s SAFE program, but not only from that,” the Prime Minister stressed.
Nearly 1,000 domestic companies have already applied to cooperate with the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), ready to work together and make use of Polish funds for domestic production.
“This is of great importance to us because it is pro-development. […] It represents the effort of thousands of talented Poles – engineers, managers, and inventors,” noted Donald Tusk.
He added that Poland has reason to be proud of its production of military equipment. The Ukrainian army, which uses much of our weaponry, confirms its effectiveness in battles against Russia. Other countries are also interested in purchasing Polish military equipment (the Chancellery of the President has provided details on aid for Ukraine’s defense).
During MSPO, the Prime Minister also announced that by mid-September a decision will be made on the choice of a partner to provide Polish companies with the technology to produce 155 mm ammunition. Thanks to this, our country will become a producer of this highly sought-after ammunition on a scale sufficient not only for the Polish army but also for export (Polish Armaments Group with a concept for building three ammunition factories).
International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce
One of the most important events in Europe and worldwide, directed at representatives of the defense industry, military decision-makers, and sector experts. This year, MSPO features more than 800 companies from 35 countries.
The strategic partner of MSPO is the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) – one of the largest defense conglomerates in Europe. It brings together dozens of industrial plants, service facilities, and research centers that are key to Poland’s defense industry.
MSPO is not only a venue for presenting military equipment but also a place where important decisions for the Polish Armed Forces are made. Among other agreements, the Armament Agency signed a contract with PGZ for the purchase of 46 radars worth 5.7 billion PLN. The modern Polish equipment will help protect national airspace as part of the government’s Narew program. The Armament Agency also signed an agreement in Kielce for the supply of MSBS Grot rifles from the Fabryka Broni Łucznik-Radom.
