On Friday, July 25, 2025, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence, Paweł Zalewski, met with U.S. Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, Brent T. Christensen. The U.S. State Department official was visiting Poland in connection with the signing of a 4 billion USD loan guarantee agreement under the Foreign Military Financing (FMF) program.

The meeting provided an opportunity to highlight the strong and multifaceted Polish–U.S. partnership, with FMF support being a key component. Poland is the largest beneficiary of this mechanism, having utilized 15 billion USD out of the 16 billion USD offered by the U.S. government to its partners.
Deputy Minister Paweł Zalewski emphasized the importance of bilateral military cooperation as part of efforts to build and strengthen Poland’s defence capabilities. The discussion also covered the global and regional security situation, with particular focus on the war in Ukraine. A key part of the dialogue also addressed cooperation within the alliance framework and the implementation of decisions from the NATO Summit in The Hague.
