On November 21–23, 2025, Paweł Zalewski, Secretary of State at the Polish Ministry of National Defence, took part in the 17th edition of the Halifax International Security Forum in Nova Scotia, Canada – one of the most important conferences on global security.

This year’s edition featured numerous discussion panels on global security and on prospects for cooperation among democratic states. Deputy Minister Zalewski spoke as a guest speaker in the session titled Ukraine: End the War by Winning the War.
On the sidelines of the Forum, Deputy Minister Paweł Zalewski held a number of bilateral meetings, including with Canada’s Deputy Minister of National Defence Stefanie Beck, Latvia’s Minister of Defence Andris Sprūds, the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee Admiral Cavo Dragone, and the Chief of Naval Operations of the Republic of Korea, Admiral Kang Dong-gil.
The meetings focused on current threats and challenges within the international security environment. All participants emphasized the need to further develop and strengthen multilevel cooperation, both within alliances and with partners.
During his visit, Deputy Minister Paweł Zalewski laid wreaths at the monuments dedicated to the Polish Diaspora in Canada and to the Polish Navy and Merchant Marine who took part in the Battle of the Atlantic.
