On Friday, October 3rd, 2025, the Polish Cyberspace Defense Forces Component Command (DKWOC) announced that it had signed a cooperation agreement with PGZ Stocznia Wojenna (Naval Shipyard), part of the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ). The signing took place at the shipyard’s headquarters in Gdynia. The agreement marks an important step toward strengthening cybersecurity in the defense sector.
The cooperation framework envisions the exchange of knowledge and experience between the Cyberspace Defense Forces Component Command and the Shipyard, as well as joint efforts to enhance the resilience of IT and communications systems against modern threats. It will include, among other activities, infrastructure security monitoring, joint incident response, and the assessment of the cyber resilience of solutions developed for the needs of the Polish Navy. The agreement was signed by Commander Andrzej Godecki, Deputy Commander of the Cyberspace Defense Forces Component Command, and Beata Koniarska, Member of the Management Board of PGZ Naval Shipyard.
The signed agreement represents not only an investment in the Shipyard’s information security but also a long-term strengthening of the nation’s defense system. The integration of military potential with the expertise of the shipbuilding industry is crucial in the face of rapidly growing challenges in cyberspace.
Modern warships are not only advanced engineering constructions but also systems highly dependent on information technology. Their resilience to cyberattacks is just as important as protection against conventional threats. Therefore, it is crucial to implement security solutions in the cyber domain already at the design and production stages.
The agreement with PGZ Naval Shipyard represents another step in building synergy between the Polish Armed Forces and the national defense industry. Joint efforts are aimed at ensuring that the Polish Navy is fully prepared to operate effectively also in cyberspace.
