According to the published statement, the Polish company has placed an order for the delivery, through Tatra Defence Vehicle, a company belonging to the Czechoslovak Group, of an undisclosed number of chassis. These are to be used to produce the first batch of vehicles ordered by the Armament Agency in the configuration of command vehicles for rocket artillery subunits, equipped, among other systems, with WR-40 Langusta multiple rocket launchers.
“The technology transfer related to the production of a new type of vehicle to Huta Stalowa Wola was successfully carried out in cooperation with CSG. This was made possible thanks to the strong commitment and high-level expertise of specialists employed at HSW, as well as the experience gained through previous technological cooperation between Tatra Trucks, Excalibur Army, and HSW in the production of Waran 4×4 tactical multirole vehicles, which are already in service with the Polish Armed Forces,” said Marek Karabuła, President of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of Huta Stalowa Wola S.A.

Cooperation between Polish and Czech companies began in 2020. Its first outcome was the Waran 4×4 multirole tactical vehicle, which has been successively delivered to units of the Polish Armed Forces, including as a platform for the Gladius system.
The high degree of localization of the Heron 6×6 results from adapting the base vehicle (Tadeas) to the specific requirements of the Polish Armed Forces. Under the terms of the industrial cooperation, Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. is responsible for serial production, while the Czech company Tatra Defence Vehicle is solely responsible for the supply of chassis.
In the command vehicle configuration presented at the International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce, the Heron was equipped with data processing and communications systems supplied by Polish manufacturers.
