It was one of the most important training activities of the year, aimed at improving planning, command, and coordination of actions within a national defense operation.
All components of the Polish Armed Forces took part in the exercise – land, naval, air, Special Forces, and the Cyber Defense Forces – as well as representatives of the non-military security sector. Such a broad format made it possible to practically verify the functioning of the national defense system and the cooperation between military and civilian structures in situations requiring a coordinated response.
Jesion-25 enabled the verification of procedures and the enhancement of command post effectiveness in a joint environment. Thanks to the use of the Joint Theater Level Simulation (JTLS) system, it was possible to replicate complex operational conditions and analyse decisions in a dynamic crisis scenario. The exercise scenario was based on NATO regional defence plans, placing the entire undertaking in the broader context of allied deterrence and defence efforts. An important element was also the cooperation with voivodeship offices, strengthening the integration of the state’s security and resilience system.
During the closing ceremony, the Armed Forces Operational Commander, Lieutenant General Maciej Klisz, emphasized the importance of the Jesion-25 exercise and thanked the soldiers and representatives of cooperating institutions for their professionalism and full commitment. He highlighted the synergy achieved through the cooperation of all components, the proper identification of key operational areas, and the high level of readiness to operate in a joint environment. At the same time, he noted that the evolving security environment requires continuous improvement of competencies and procedures.
During the ceremonial summary, soldiers who particularly distinguished themselves in the performance of their tasks received acknowledgements and commemorative coins from the Commander.
The Jesion exercise is cyclical and defensive in nature and is not directed against any state. Its overarching goal remains to strengthen defence capabilities and confirm the readiness of the Polish Armed Forces to operate within national and allied security structures.
