On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, during the International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO), a bilateral meeting was held between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and Swedish Minister of Defence Pål Jonson.

“We have signed another cooperation agreement with Sweden. We are developing our defense industries, purchasing equipment from one another. We held a joint meeting of the working groups of the Polish and Swedish defense industries. These are tangible results of cooperation: troop presence, trade exchange, mutual purchases, joint exercises. I thank you for signing this agreement, which raises the relations between our countries and between the armed forces of Poland and Sweden to the highest level. These are new capabilities, new skills — the best kind of cooperation. We are friends, we are allies, we are responsible for one another,” said Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in Kielce.
“Sweden’s accession to NATO is a breakthrough moment, a fundamental change in the Baltic Sea region – in our capabilities and our security. From the very first days when you made the decision to join the North Atlantic Alliance, we supported that decision and we continue to support each other. I would like to thank the Minister and the entire Kingdom of Sweden for sending your soldiers, your Gripen aircraft along with pilots and ground crews. Thank you for protecting Polish skies and supporting operations related to delivering equipment to Ukraine,” said the Minister of National Defence during the conference.
The Deputy Prime Minister announced that Swedish forces will soon cooperate with the Polish Armed Forces as part of the Iron Shield exercises.
“The signed agreement is a clear signal of how dynamically relations between Poland and Sweden are developing. As I said during the meeting – it is hard to find another country where, after joining NATO, cooperation has advanced so fundamentally as it has between Sweden and Poland. This is possible thanks to our shared sense of responsibility and commitment to safeguarding security,” said the Swedish Minister of Defence after the meeting.
