On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, Zakłady Chemiczne Nitro-Chem S.A. from Bydgoszcz — part of the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) — signed another contract with the American company Paramount Enterprises International (PEI) for the supply of TNT in the years 2027–2029. As a leading European manufacturer of explosives, the Bydgoszcz-based plant will provide TNT intended for U.S. government weapons programs, including its use in the filling of 155 mm caliber artillery shells.
The two previous contracts for TNT deliveries to the U.S. with Paramount Enterprises International were signed on April 14, 2024, and November 7, 2023. The latest agreement is yet another testament to the company’s strong position on the international market.
“Today’s contract signing once again confirms our company’s leading position as a proven, reliable, and trusted supplier of explosives for key partners around the world. For over 20 years, we have consistently fulfilled international contracts, playing a vital role in ensuring global military security. This newly signed contract is not only a financial success for the company but also a guarantee of continued employment for our workforce,” said Arkadiusz Miszuk, President of the Board Of Directors of Zakłady Chemiczne Nitro-Chem.
During the official contract signing ceremony at the headquarters of Nitro-Chem in Bydgoszcz, representatives of the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) were also present, further emphasizing the importance of this cooperation for the national defense industry. The event was also attended by Pol-Mare, a company that has specialized for many years in the maritime transport of military cargo and coordinates the shipment of Nitro-Chem’s products to the United States.
“The latest orders carried out by Nitro-Chem for Paramount Enterprises International confirm the high quality of the explosives produced at the Bydgoszcz plant, as well as its ability to meet the stringent standards required in the defense sector. The company’s continued cooperation with global partners demonstrates its capability to fulfill the most demanding contracts in the defense industry—without compromising domestic ammunition production under PGZ’s munitions domain, in which Nitro-Chem plays a key role,” added Piotr Zawieja, Member of the Management Board of the Polish Armaments Group.
“The Polish-American partnership is absolutely crucial for us. Today’s meeting is exceptional because we are sharing our competencies together. We are the ones selling our product to the American company Paramount International Enterprise. Let me also remind you that Poland is the largest producer of TNT within NATO. Today we’re talking about a contract that will be carried out between 2027 and 2029, with a value of 1.2 billion PLN. The delivery will include 18,000 tons of TNT. It is worth emphasizing that Poland is the main supplier to the United States Armed Forces,” said Cezary Tomczyk, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence.
Zakłady Chemiczne Nitro-Chem continues to strengthen its position as a key supplier of explosives, maintaining long-standing cooperation with international partners and contributing to the execution of some of the most important defense programs worldwide. This is yet another contract in recent years with an American partner as the recipient.
Nitro-Chem is one of the world’s leading producers of explosives and a top exporter in the Polish defense industry. The company’s products are delivered to nearly every continent. In addition to the United States, Nitro-Chem is also expanding its presence on international markets, including Italy, Spain, France, Sweden, Portugal, and the United Kingdom.
