New Streamlight products from the TLR Family

Streamlight presents new additions to the TLR flashlight family – the TLR-7 and TLR-6 models are now available in versions powered by replaceable, rechargeable batteries (while still maintaining the option to use CR123A batteries).

TLR Family

Streamlight TLR flashlights are designed for use with firearms, particularly handguns. They are divided into larger and smaller models, intended for use on duty weapons as well as smaller designs for everyday carry. One of the larger models is the TLR-9, which was reviewed by one of our editors in this way:

In a word: for the price of increased length and weight (plus a few extra digits on the receipt), we get a versatile accessory that significantly enhances our weapon. It’s by no means a show-off or a fashion statement, but rather a sensible approach. Even if we shoot exclusively for sport and do not anticipate tactical use of the flashlight, it’s worth having where regulations do not prohibit it.

On the other hand, a model suitable for a concealed carry weapon could be the TLR-8, which was tested and described thusly by another editor:

Both flashlights prove that Streamlight does not rest on its laurels and focuses on continuous development. An additional plus is listening to user feedback. The medium controls on the TLR-8 were improved based on customer requests. The icing on the cake is the mounting systems that allow the flashlight to be attached without placing a hand in front of the barrel. These are also very solid constructions. Comparing quality to price, Streamlight has long remained a leader in the market.

At this year’s SHOT Show, new additions to the TLR family were presented – the TLR-7 and TLR-6 powered by rechargeable Streamlight batteries.

The new variant of the TLR-7 flashlight can be powered by a Streamlight SL-B9 battery, rechargeable via an integrated USB-C port. However, the option to use CR123A batteries has been retained. It is available in black or a black/Flat Dark Earth combination.

Two types of switches allow the flashlight to be adjusted to the shooter’s hand position

The TLR-6 HL and TLR-6 HL-G models are also enhanced with the additional option of being powered by batteries rechargeable via a USB-C port – this time the SL-B2 model. The TLR-6 series is designed for subcompact semi-automatic pistols from manufacturers such as Glock, Smith & Wesson, SIG Sauer, and Springfield Armory. It is worth noting that models designed for specific guns may have slightly different construction and can be equipped with a laser sight.

The SL-B2 batteries can be stored and charged in a special case (reminiscent of wireless headphones solutions).

Technical specifications for TLR-6 HL-G:

  • Maximum light output: 300 lumens
  • Peak beam intensity: up to 4,250 candela
  • Overall length: 63 mm
  • Weight: 31 g
  • Beam distance: 130 m

Technical specifications for TLR-6:
