MSPO 2024: Concept presents the Żmija in a new version

At this year’s 32nd International Defence Industry Exhibition MSPO 2024 in Kielce, the company Concept will showcase military equipment on an even larger scale than in previous editions of the MSPO fair. At the outdoor booth ZC-11, located next to the main entrance to the exhibition hall, visitors will be able to see the latest military equipment designed for all branches of land forces.

The Long Range Reconnaissance Vehicle (Pojazd Dalekiego Rozpoznania, PDR), codenamed Żmija (“Viper”), will be presented on the ATAX IRVIN GQ airdrop platform. This vehicle is a version of the Concept LPU Wirus IV, delivered under contract to the Polish Armed Forces (Long-Range Reconnaissance Żmija Vehicles on the border with Belarus).

The vehicle has a permanent 4×4 drive system, characterized by excellent traction capabilities, designed and manufactured in accordance with the requirements for special operations of the Armed Forces. The vehicle is equipped with a 2,442 cm³ R4 diesel engine, with a maximum power of 133 kW. The engine is powered by diesel fuel and is equipped with a turbocharger and intercooler. The vehicle’s body is mounted on a frame with an integrated safety cage, made from lightweight composites.

The cabin has been designed in accordance with defense standards specifying ergonomics and functionality and is intended for 3 people (including the driver). The vehicle is equipped with weapon mounting systems, including a roof-mounted turret that can accommodate 7.62 mm / 12.7 mm machine guns and a 40 mm grenade launcher. It also has mounts for carrying 3 personal weapons for the crew, and a mount for the commander’s 7.62 mm rifle. Additionally, the vehicle features blast-resistant floor armor at level I according to STANAG 4569 Annex B and run-flat inserts in the wheels.

Since the vehicle is designed for all branches of the armed forces, including those with parachute capabilities, it can be airdropped by parachute. The vehicle is presented on the ATAX airdrop platform produced by IRVIN GQ, in a version prepared for airdrop, jointly developed by CONCEPT and IRVIN GQ.
