AR-15 from WBP Rogów
The Piast is a long-awaited AR-15 rifle from WBP Rogów, making its debut at the IWA OutdoorClassics 2025 trade fair in Nuremberg. The firearm was developed by the Polish company under the codename “Black Jack,” which is visible on the lower receivers of the early models showcased at the event.

At this year’s IWA 2025 trade fair, the Jacek Popiński Weapons Factory (WBP Rogów) unveiled its new AR-platform rifle chambered in 5.56x45mm/.223 REM, named “Piast.” This carbine operates on the direct gas impingement system. The “Piast” features a 14.5″ barrel, with plans to offer variants with different barrel and handguard lengths in the future. Both the upper and lower receivers have been redesigned while maintaining compatibility with accessories from other manufacturers. The carbine’s market launch in Poland is scheduled for spring 2025. Features of the Piast
The heart of the Piast is a 14.5-inch (368 mm) nitrided 4140 steel barrel with a 1:8-inch twist rate. It is finished with a typical 1/2×28 thread, fitted with an A2-standard flash hider (muzzle device). Surrounding the barrel is a 13.5-inch (342 mm) anodized 6005-T6 aluminum handguard, featuring M-LOK attachment points and a full-length Picatinny rail along the top.

The upper and lower receivers are made from anodized 7075-T6 aluminum (forged). The same material is used for the ambidextrous charging handle and buffer tube. The lower receiver houses a TriggerTech Duty trigger mechanism and a 90° safety selector with levers on both sides. The rifle is equipped with a Fabryka Broni Radom pistol grip and magazine (also compatible with the MSBS Grot), a Magpul Industries CTR stock, and a buffer tube end plate with a QD sling mount.

The firearm showcased in Nuremberg features a direct impingement (DI) gas system with a mid-length gas tube. The manufacturer will offer two types of handguards: M-LOK with a full-length top rail and a lightweight version without a rail. The handguards, barrels, and buffer tubes are all produced in-house.
