The Bren 3 is a modular, multi-caliber rifle operating on a short-stroke gas piston system. It is a significant modification of the Bren 2 rifles, developed by Česká Zbrojovka based on feedback from use by special forces personnel. The weapon is currently offered to both military users and law enforcement agencies.

According to information obtained by the MILMAG Editorial Team, the Bren 3 has not undergone any further modifications since its debut in Paris, and its core design principles remain unchanged. The weapon is compatible with two types of ammunition: 5.56×45 mm NATO and 300 Blackout (7.62×35 mm). For the 5.56 mm version, barrels will be available in lengths of 7 inches (177 mm), 11 inches (279 mm), 14.5 inches (368 mm), and 16.5 inches (419 mm). The 300 Blackout version comes with either a 7-inch or 9-inch barrel (177 mm or 228 mm).
The method of guiding the bolt carrier group inside the receiver has been changed—two threaded steel rails have been introduced—and the bolt itself has been reinforced and fitted with a second extractor. The rifle is also equipped with a distinctive adjustable gas regulator. The folding stock mount has been reinforced, and the handguard has been redesigned. These modifications aim to increase reliability and enhance ergonomics by making it easier to add accessories such as optical and electro-optical sights, stocks, handguards, muzzle devices, and suppressors (Eurosatory 2024: Premiere of the CZ BREN 3).
