Galvion, a global leader in the design and manufacture of innovative ballistic head protection systems, power and data management solutions, and integrated soldier systems, has to date received orders for 225,000 Batlskin Caiman helmets under its framework agreement with the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) from countries whose orders have already been publicly announced. In addition, in recent months Galvion has received a number of new, yet-to-be-announced orders, with several more currently in progress, which will soon push the total beyond the 250,000-unit threshold.

In December 2022, Galvion joined the NSPA program, which facilitates the supply of NATO countries and partners with the high-performance Batlskin Caiman system and its accessories. To meet demand, the company established a new European production facility in Gdańsk, which employs more than 70 specialists. The site provides helmet finishing and assembly capabilities, as well as essential support, maintenance, refurbishment, upgrades, and training. At the same time, Galvion entered into a manufacturing partnership with the UK-based NP Aerospace, a producer of, among other things, helmets, to support the regional program and meet customer demand.

To qualify for the NSPA framework contract, Galvion had to undergo extensive user trials under the strict supervision of NSPA’s standardization authority. The Batlskin Caiman helmet system qualified in the highest performance category out of the four available. The Caiman helmet is offered in five sizes and is equipped with Galvion’s latest APEX liner system, which can be adjusted to meet individual user needs while providing unmatched stability for the latest vision-enhancing devices. Caiman is scalable for high-intensity operations with mission-specific accessories and has been designed specifically to integrate electronics, headsets, and other essential equipment, both now and in the future.

Todd Stirtzinger, CEO at Galvion said:
“Our primary goal at Galvion is to empower the missions of operators around the world. As a team, we are incredibly proud to see so many of our head systems fielded across NATO, whether through the NSPA framework or other official program contracts, and we look forward to supplying existing and new customers through additional orders.”
He also added:
“We have invested heavily in an expanded global production footprint and are continuously evaluating opportunities to support our growing NATO and wider EU customer base. Our regional production strategy strengthens supply chain resilience and ensures that our European and NATO customers have reliable access to our best-in-class equipment, when and where they need it.”
