On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the Kraśnik branch of Mesko, a company belonging to the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), a meeting was held regarding the development of large-caliber ammunition production. Attending the meeting were: PGZ CEO Krzysztof Trofiniak, Mesko board member Dr. Eng. Przemysław Kowalczuk, Deputy Voivode of Lublin voivodeship Andrzej Maj, and Wojciech Wilk, the Mayor of Kraśnik.
During the meeting, president Krzysztof Trofiniak presented the current plans regarding the future of Mesko in Kraśnik. Increasing production at the plant will not only involve its expansion but also an increase in employment.
As reported by the Kraśnik City Office on the Facebook social media platform, the newly appointed CEO of PGZ presented current plans regarding the future of Mesko in Kraśnik. The plant is set to increase production, which will entail its expansion. Over the course of two years, the Kraśnik-based armaments factory will consequently increase employment by 200 new positions. The CEO of PGZ also announced plans to establish cooperation with our technical schools and improve working conditions for those currently employed in the company.
Wojciech Wilk thanked President Krzysztof Trofiniak for his efforts regarding the expansion of the Kraśnik plant. The threat posed by the consequences of the war in Ukraine and Russia’s aggressive stance is impacting the increasing expenditures of the state related to the defense industry.
According to previous media reports, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz promised support and orders in Kraśnik’s Mesko.
