During the Eurosatory trade show in Paris, American company AM General presented their newest multi-mission, high mobility NXT 360 vehicle. The product is offered to current users of M1000 HMMWV (High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle) as a modernization package.

NXT 360 is based on the modernized M1151 Enhanced Armament Carrier variant, which was in fact created as an M1025A2 successor. The newest variant has improved ballistic and blast protection (2A and 1A+ as per STANAG). Mobility and performance were also increased.
At the first sight new bumper cover, wheels, tyres and hood can be noticed. New hood conceals the P400 diesel engine – the newest generation of 6,5-liter V8 turbocharged diesel engines produced by AM General. Powerplant modifications allowed for 250 BHP (an increase of 60 BHP) and 1700 Nm of torque.
Four-speed gearbox was replaced with a 6-speed 6L8e unit. Tyre size was increased to 335/65 R22.5 Goodyear G275 MSA. New rubber resulted in 15% better fuel economy, 20% better acceleration and 40 km/h higher top speed. Thanks to Long Travel Kit suspension, flex was increased by 40% and ground clearance went up by 175 mm.
M1151 chassis was strengthened and modified in NXT 360. GVW was increased to 7100 kg and the carrying capacity to around 1600 kg (armour package dependent). Blast- resistant seats, anti-shrapnel mats, ABS/ESC and B7 class windows come as standard.
105-mm M119 light howitzer placed on HMMWV Hawkey chassis was also presented at the Eurosatory show in 5A hall, on the B387 stand. This weapon system was recently tested by US Army as an addition to Infantry Brigade Combat Teams.
